Jan Mary Anderson FAA FRS (13 May 1932 – 28 August 2015) was a New Zealand scientist from , distinguished by her investigation of photosynthesis. She was the first to show that the photosynthetic mechanism comprises two fundamental components: photosystem I and photosytem II.〔(Professor Jan Anderson FRS - Shedding light on photosynthesis )〕 Anderson was an Adjunct Professor at the Australian National University.〔(Profile of Jan Anderson ), from the Australian National University〕
